Job Description:

Stantec is a leader in global infrastructure, water resource development, Buildings, Mining, Power and Dams, Substations, Industrial projects, and Oil and Gas providing engineering design and remediation, construction, procurement, program management, and technology solutions for the environmental, water, wastewater, energy, and power markets along with industrial sectors of the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific region.

Stantec is looking for an Engineer who can contribute to the ongoing growth of Stantec Resource Net India Private Ltd by providing technical expertise in the FEED design and detailed design for electrical cables, including interconnectors, HVDC and HVAC cables. The candidate will ideally have a wide knowledge of the transmission and distribution sector, having worked with a number of the key T&D clients Across Globe.

The role also requires supporting Senior and Principal Engineers by providing technical expertise to ensure that project outcomes in terms of profit, schedule, and technical and quality standards, meet both the client’s and Stantec’s expectations.

Key Accountabilities:

• Perform QA/QC on projects before submittal to the client

• Calculation of ampacity for various cable configurations

• Cable earthing arrangement to ENA ER C55/4

• Cable route design

• Cable Sealing End Design

• Trenching & Temporary Work Design

• Bonding Cable/ECC rating calculation

• specification production for LV and HV cables

• Cable Pulling calculations.

• Underground cable sizing calculation including heat dissipation

Specific Experience:

• Bachelor/ master’s degree in electrical or civil/Structural engineering.

• 5 to 7 years of experience in HV and LV cable sizing.

• Proficiency design and specification production for LV and HV cables

• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Office

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Be able to demonstrate solid leadership and communication skills

• Working knowledge of electric utility systems, policies, and procedures including engineering standards

• 2D design experience using the following Software applications will be an added advantage.

o Autodesk AutoCAD

o Bentley MicroStation

o Autodesk Navisworks

• Experience working with a major electrical utility

• Flexibility to prioritize and work on multiple projects with various due dates and scopes
