Title and Summary

Manager, Product Development

Mastercard is dedicated to inclusive economic growth for all people across the globe. The mandate of the Humanitarian & Development team is to transform communities at the Base of the Pyramid (BOP). We leverage our digital technology and innovate new business models to digitalize essential daily services – provisioning healthcare, distributing agriculture subsidies, streamlining small merchant supply chains, optimizing aid distribution, and more. By so doing, we go well beyond Mastercard’s traditional payments remit, and critically, increase our reach to the 1+ billion previously unserved consumers at the BOP.

The Manager, Product Development must be able to support innovation projects, dynamically consult and manage both business and technical facets for solution delivery, translate from business goals to functional requirements, and lead internal and external partners towards a successful solution delivery.

Role

• Partner with cross-functional teams to design, develop and deliver new Products for Community Pass Payments domain

• Understand business context and market dynamics including Regulatory, Legal, Competitive and Technology landscapes

• Act as a translator between functional specialists (UX, Architecture, Engineering, QA, Product Commercialization, Legal, Data Privacy) to ensure product vision is understood and committed outcomes are delivered

• Define product requirements based on product roadmap; Define user journeys and user flows

• Manage product development process for Community Pass Payments products, understanding the Software Development Lifecycle to ensure that initial build effort concludes on time and budget

• Elicit requirements from multiple sources such as business teams, customers, vendors and market insights

• Document and communicate core product concepts to Engineering teams

• Drive customer workshops for integrated product functionality

• Track and manage risks and issues, including escalations to management

• Identify and recommend opportunities to standardize and automate efforts to ensure quality and enable scaling of product

• Passionate about transforming lives at the Base of the Pyramid consumers, with an ability to uncover needs and design features to serve this unique segment

• Proven experience launching and scaling new product deployments

• Ability to engage high-level stakeholders and partners in support of development activities

• Demonstrated ability to work within and across geographic boundaries within a matrix environment, comfortable with fast and fluid environments, good team player
