Responsibilities You will develop and implement standards of practice, policies, and procedures for implementation DSO Wide. You will provide expertise on litigation DSO-wide including training and case specific consultations to DSP judge advocates. You will be required to travel to locations to support ongoing cases. You will provide expertise and leadership in military justice or complex civilian criminal litigation as a trial-level attorney. You will demonstrate advanced proficiency in providing authoritative legal advice, assistance and training in complex litigation. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience must demonstrate significant, validated, and recent expertise and leadership in military justice or complex civilian criminal litigation as a trial-level attorney. The incumbent must also demonstrate advanced proficiency providing authoritative legal advice, assistance, and training in complex criminal litigation. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Law Degree and Bar Membership: Incumbent must have graduated from a law school that is accredited by the American Bar Association, must be an active member in good standing of the bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia, and be admitted to practice before a state or federal court, of good character; and in full compliance with continuing legal education requirements of an appropriate bar. The incumbent must maintain this professional qualification at all times as a condition of employment. Must possess J.D. or LL.B from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association. Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
