Name and description of the hiring team

9-1-1 Emergency Service

Provide 9-1-1 Emergency Service for the population of Quebec and Ontario. Safeguard and ensure that accurate records are maintained and are easily accessible to emergency services. Deal with municipalities, service providers and response centers.

Job Duties / Accountabilities

  • Analyze and correct the 9-1-1 database to maintain accurate and accessible information to all customers and competitors

  • Configure the data to ensure proper 9-1-1 call routing including management of lists of compositions used by 9-1-1 dispatchers

  • Coordinate activities with internal and external customers in order to ensure adherence to timelines, using various sources / systems

  • Provide support and answer queries from various stakeholders

  • Execute various tests cases prior to and following new system version implementation and submit improvements

  • Charge service providers and response centers, which include contract renewals

  • Develop, write and validate the working procedures used to train new employees and to ensure proper tasks execution

Essential Qualifications / Competencies

  • Bilingual is required because in the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English speaking stakeholders across Canada

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Outlook and Word and base knowledge of Excel

  • Ability to work in a computerized environment in constant evolution

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (French and English)

  • Ability to work in a computerized environment in constant evolution

  • Flexibility and ability to resolve exceptions

  • Strong ability in decision taking

  • High capacity for learning, autonomy and self-taught

  • Have a very good sense of organization and be multitasking

Preferred Qualifications / Competencies

  • Knowledge of system applications: BCRIS, ACCESS, SFUI, SOA, Operation Center and Customer Service

  • Knowledge of the 9-1-1 systems

  • Strong interpersonal skills for team work

  • Customer oriented

  • Open to change and proactive

Working Conditions

  • Teleworking and 2 to 4 times per month at the office

  • Training at the office

  • Availability from Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm during summer

  • Availability to work some Holidays on rotation

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
