WSP USA Manager, Electrical Engineering - Renewables in Quebec, Quebec

The Opportunity:

WSP is seeking a Manager, Electrical Engineering – Renewables to join our ERI (Energy, Resources, Industry) team, based in our Quebec City or Montreal Offices in Quebec! This position will supervise a team of engineers and technicians across Canada responsible for the development of renewable energy projects and high-voltage substations. You will lead and program manage medium to large projects in electrical engineering within our renewables market (solar, wind, and battery energy storage) and support the Hydro and Dams and Transmission and Distribution markets. What you can expect to do here:

  • As part of the Renewables Market leadership team, you will lead all administrative, human resources, and technical management tasks within the electrical discipline.

  • You will supervise a team engineers and technicians spread across Canada.

  • You will oversee electrical work and provide guidance to engineers, technicians, and drafting teams across the market.

  • You will develop initiatives to strengthen operational and technical project delivery as well as technical development of the electrical discipline.

  • You will lead projects in electrical engineering within our renewables market (solar, wind, and battery energy storage) and support the Hydro and Dams and Transmission and Distribution markets.

  • You will ensure quality control of deliverables.

  • You will participate in the growth of the business unit.

  • You will participate in the preparation of proposals and business development activities.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering

  • Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Quebec or another province in Canada

  • At least 10+ years of relevant experience in consulting engineering and engineering management

  • At least 5+ years of experience managing/leading a team of engineers and/or technicians

  • Previous experience with renewable energy projects (solar, wind, battery energy storage, etc.)

  • Experience in executing multi-discipline engineering work on medium and large-scale complex projects across the pre-feasibility study, feasibility study, basic and detail engineering the full EP and EPCM life cycle, including field engineering and commissioning experience

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Must be bilingual – English, French

  • Pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach to problem solving

  • Multi-disciplinary versatility; a dynamic, team-spirited, and quality-oriented approach; and a commitment to technical excellence are essential.
