ACTIVITY AIDE/COORDINATOR OPPORTUNITY

The Activity Aide/Coordinator is responsible for planning, scheduling, and implementing life skills and leisure activity programs for the patients based on appropriate developmental, social, and emotional stages of each patient under the direction of the Director of Activity Therapy. The Activity Aide/Coordinator plans activities to meet the specific needs of the patient population including patient with physical limitations.

    Qualifications

    Activity Aide/Coordinator Requirements:

  • Prefer a BA degree or equivalent in Recreational Therapy or related field

  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed

  • Must possess knowledge of all major psychiatric diagnosis, as well as developmental stage of adolescents and adults

  • Knowledge of child, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations is additionally helpful

  • Experience in clinical interviewing and knowledge of the concept and philosophy of Activity Therapy in the treatment process is required

  • Two years experience in a psychiatric or substance abuse facility is preferred

  • Certification in CPR required upon hire
