Job Description

The Associate Director, HR Privacy and Merger / Acquisition (M&A) is responsible for the oversight and management of HR data privacy and is responsible for the oversight of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures related to HR systems. This individual serves as the lead for all activities related to HR systems compliance with global data privacy requirements. The individual also supports and consults across HR solutions to ensure that new systems, functionality releases, etc., meet the required global privacy standards. This role also serves as the primary point for merger, acquisition, and divestiture activity as it relates to HR data and systems. This role will support the coordination and oversight of how HR systems are leveraged to enable and execute on the overall integration strategy, as well as overseeing the coordination and execution of mass data loads into HR systems. This individual must be able to influence across multiple levels of the organization, work with HR operations leaders and internal/external partners as needed.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Serve as HR global privacy steward: Participates in Privacy and GDPR Compliance working group; Keeps abreast of changes in laws, regulations, and guidelines; shares information and ensures proper HR ownership for data privacy. Primary HR point of contact for the Global Privacy Office on HR’s behalf to meet Company Privacy Requirements. Advises HR leadership on Privacy risks and mitigation activities.

  • Program Management: Serves as the primary point for supporting / executing the M&A strategy for various acquisitions as it relates to enabling HR system data, access, and varying processes and functionality.

  • Provides guidance and consulting to others regarding HR Privacy practices and governance processes within the HR Community.

  • Serves as the primary point of contact and engages across HR Solutions teams to enable and execute mass data loads into HR systems and all data loads as it relates to mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.

  • Oversees certain SOX Audit Controls for HR Processes to meet Audit requirements.

The Assoc. Director, HR Privacy and Merger / Acquisition (M&A) operates in a highly complex and matrix environment and is expected to apply HR functional and operational expertise to drive results. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished HR or IT professional with a mindset and passion for data privacy and experience working with HR policies, processes, and M&A within a global organization.

The incumbent will have a track record that demonstrates the following competencies:

  • Ability to quickly assess risks and prioritize opportunities where we can improve our processes or systems to decrease financial, reputation, legal, or business risk

  • Ability to work independently and within a team to influence actions of others

  • Ability to proactively escalate potential risks early and articulately into business terms

  • Ability to quickly assess business needs to identify opportunities where HR/HRIS processes or systems can further the strategy or streamline processes

  • Strong understanding of data governance, data management, and data privacy principles

  • Experience working with information management and analytics tools

  • Ability to indirectly influence within an operational environment

  • Juggle multiple priorities and manage expectations of different users and client groups

  • Ability to direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems and translate HR/HRIS issues clearly and articulate into business terms

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in an HR/HRIS/IT/Operations function

  • Knowledge of HR process and program knowledge

  • Experience with HR information technology (preferably Workday)

  • Global data privacy experience & knowledge of Global Data Privacy Regulations & laws

  • Strong understanding of and appreciation for data privacy concepts and principles including (e.g., importance of securing data at rest and in transit, ensuring data is used in a way that is consistent with the intended purpose)

  • Project leadership expertise, managing in a deadline driven environment

  • Excellent analytical, technical, problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated competencies in relationship management, facilitation, influencing skills, and working globally as well as cross functionally

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • HR Data Knowledge

  • Experience managing or executing mergers, acquisitions and / or divestitures in an HR technology environment

  • Workday Experience (experience managing / executing EIBs)

  • A team-oriented style and a collaborative approach to getting work done. Ability to be hands-on and entrenched in the details when necessary

  • Highly technical / analytical with the ability to tackle deep dive analysis

  • Ability to adjust to a rapidly changing environment and make decisions with limited information

  • Initiative, creativity, and solid written and verbal communication skills

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, generally Tuesday, Wednesday and either Monday or Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence. Expected salary range:

$135,500.00 - $213,400.00
