Robert Half Bookkeeper in Raleigh, North Carolina

Description We are offering a contract-to-hire employment opportunity for a Bookkeeper in the legal industry, situated in Raleigh, North Carolina. This role is primarily focused on maintaining financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. You will be responsible for working closely with our team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable, and manage invoices and tax payments.

Responsibilities:

• Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.

• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.

• Ensure timely bank payments.

• Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements.

• Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity.

• Audit financial transactions and documents.

• Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary.

• Comply with financial policies and regulations.

• Writing checks, commercial closing, and time and billing.

• Regular trust account, operating account, and real estate trust account operations.

• Reconciling accounts payable once a week. Requirements • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

• Proven working experience as a bookkeeper.

• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.

• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly in Excel.

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.

• Strong knowledge of business and income tax worksheets and computations.

• Experience with legal industry accounting practices is a plus.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Working knowledge of relevant legal regulations and guidelines.

• Professional certification, such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB), is a plus.

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.

• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data.

• Familiarity with financial software and databases.
