Kimley-Horn Human Resources Coordinator in Raleigh, North Carolina

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for a Human Resources (HR) Coordinator to join our Raleigh, North Carolina (NC) office on their HR team! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional support to all internal partners and clients; respond promptly to questions and take ownership of follow up.

  • Partner with HR Coordinator(s) to coordinate logistics for and lead regional face-to-face Strong Start training throughout the year.

  • Support HR Assistant(s) with the onboarding process for new hires as needed, including communication, initiating pre-employment paperwork, background checks, and coordination of drug screens.

  • Partner with HR Assistant(s) to enter new hire data into HRIS system in accordance with onboarding guidelines and best practices.

  • Lead new hire orientations and associated integration activities to ensure a positive onboarding experience.

  • Participate in and support special projects that have impact across the region and organization.

  • Provide primary support for the annual and semi-annual performance review processes across the region.

  • Process employee updates in the HRIS, including but not limited to changes with job/role FLSA status, supervisor work schedule, and termination information.

  • Perform regular audits of HRIS system, in collaboration with HR Assistant(s), to ensure accuracy of employee information.

  • Review and track employee professional licensure process and associated job updates.

  • Collaborate with HR Partner(s) to conduct and communicate termination process to supervisors and departing employees, including departure paperwork, exit interviews, and updates to employee file within HRIS.

  • Support training team by identifying and assigning participants to various training programs.

  • Collaborate with HR Partner(s) on general employee relations concerns, performance management, team building, complaint/conflict resolution, career development, and training facilitation.

  • Analyze data and provide recommendations to improve processes, employee engagement, and policy alignment across the region.

  • Respond to requests for workforce demographic data, including data by job category, sex, race or ethnicity, etc. to support various external project pursuits.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to maintain confidential information and demonstrate a high level of discretion and judgement.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently, prioritize, and maintain composure in a high-paced office environment.

  • Detail-oriented with auditing, file management, data entry, and employee requests.

  • Excellent organization and follow-through; demonstrate ownership, sense of urgency, and initiative with task completion.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate with a broad range of employees, allowing for flexible and appropriate communication with various levels of the organization.

  • Flexible, including the ability to execute tactically and collaborate across many teams, levels, and situations.

  • Ability and desire to work collaboratively with team members within the region, as well as across the organization.

  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in human resources, or related field.

  • At least 2 years of professional HR-related experience.

  • Demonstrated interest in building a career in the HR profession, which may include relevant internship and/or post-graduate work, a plus.

  • Valid driver’s license: ability to travel, sometimes overnight, to support the needs of the region.

  • Proficiency in Outlook, MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; ability to learn HRIS and recruiting systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in obtaining PHR or SHRM-CP certification.

  • Previous experience with UKG Pro, iCIMS, and Adobe Suite.
