About our Team:

On our Data Center Group System Performance team, you will work as part of a dynamic, experienced and professional team of engineers responsible for delivering the best server performance and Lenovo leadership in the data center industry. You will have the opportunity to interact and work with colleagues worldwide to grow your collaborative skills. We problem solve and troubleshoot hardware, firmware and software problems during all phases of product development.

What You Will Do:

You will be involved in design and validation of subsystem and system performance to ensure Lenovo data center solutions exceed customer expectations. You will also support the extended Lenovo teams that include other development, sales & marketing and service & support teams around the world. Responsibilities may include engineering level validation of performance metrics for the various sever subsystems, along with resolution of any issues towards the successful release of the product. You definitely have:

  • B. S /M.S. degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience

  • Experience in Intel/AMD processor-based servers and architecture, including NUMA systems

  • An understanding of server subsystems (CPU, memory, storage, network)

  • Exposure to virtualization environments (vSphere, RHV/KVM, Xen, libvirt/qemu)

  • Strong Linux skills

  • Programming experience: including Java multithreaded application and debugging skills

It would be a plus if you have:

  • The ability to learn quickly and work both independently and in a team environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Exposure to performance analysis of application workloads, modeling, resource monitoring tools and bottleneck determination

  • Had some exposure to an industry data center environment, including familiarity with the configuration of network adapters, switches, HBAs, and SAN components

  • Real world problem solving skills and experience

  • Strong linux shell/bash, perl, and python scripting capabilities

  • A strong desire to quickly learn and gain expertise in server performance analysis

  • Hands on exposure/experience with server hardware, firmware and software

  • Exposure to real life workloads/applications, including J2EE environments, HTTP servers, DBMS configuration/tuning

  • Experience working in a lab environment with some system level troubleshooting
