Robert Half is offering an exciting opportunity to work with an expanding North America based, services company on their search for a success driven AP Specialist with proven experience managing a team of accounts payable clerks, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and confidentiality of the company. In this role, the candidate will ensure all invoice are processed and coded accurately by the accounts payable department, create and implement revenue generating metrics, and train, coach and mentor the AP Specialist as needed. The ideal AP Lead will have excellent communication skills and proven expertise working with accounting systems and software.

What you get to do everyday

· Manage accounts payable team

· Oversee AP systems

· Maintain general ledger expense accounts

· Ensure timely collection of payments

· Maintain AP controls

· Develop, implement, improve, and enforce budgets

· Prepare and process vendor 1099s

· Verify and resolve discrepancies

· Maintain updated vendor W9s

· Stay updated on industry and legislative changes

· Review month end and AP closing reports

Requirements

The ideal AP Specialist will have a Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration.

Other requirements for the AP Specialist role include and are not limited to:

· 3+ years of AP processing experience

· Supervisory experience a big plus

· Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel

· Job Costing a big plus

· Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
