Position Description

As the OPE (Outdoor Power Equipment) Business Development Manager for Alberta, you must possess passion, initiative, and drive, combined with natural leadership and coaching skills. Your communication skills need to be exemplary. Your passion for product, application and business knowledge will help you lead the region as the subject matter expert in lawn care/grounds management, landscape contracting and tree care for the Milwaukee brand.

You will be the OPE resource who will be called upon for the operational execution of the outdoor engagement strategy in your region. You will coordinate prepare, present, and support the execution of conversion programs that foster long term equity with targeted end users. You will assist the sales team in driving OPE conversions, trial and brand awareness which directly impacts our market share. You will work closely with JSS team, Territory Managers and key distributor partners in order to build plans that convert users through branch work and in-field joint sales calls with distributor staff. Excellent communication skills are paramount given your interaction with the multiple functions involved in the selling and conversion process.

What You Will Do

  • Be a product and application expert for Milwaukee’s breadth of line in outdoor and outdoor-relevant products

  • Work directly with reps in the field to provide expertise & training

  • Provide insight into new product introductions and development in the OPE SBU

  • Build relationships and lead the conversation with end user decision makers in the landscaping, property maintenance and tree-care sectors

  • Help JSS and Sales reps make user and distributor conversions within their territory using product knowledge, conversion programs and exclusive user-facing promotions

  • Exceed all conversion and sales targets

  • Ensure programs are being used in a financially responsible manner in the field

  • Help track and/or communicate plans, conversions, and successes

What You Will Bring

  • Minimum 3 year of industrial distribution and/or end user sales experience

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience

  • 3+ years sales and sales leadership experience or equivalent

  • Must be proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office applications

  • Must possess exemplary communication and leadership skills

  • Must be a team player with a positive outlook

  • Requires a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

  • Up to 50% travel
