MICROSOFT CORP Business Program Manager in Redmond, Washington

Job Description: Develop a scalable and effective technical strategy to support the rhythm of the business and organizational goals. Manage the execution of planning and development of the integrated master schedule, in support of major projects and programs across the portfolio.  Oversee and manage portfolio and program level schedules, building detailed schedules from inception to completion.  Develop schedule mitigation strategies, while reporting on schedule issues and critical tasks to management, analyzing schedule sensitivity and risk, alerting on issues, and recommending solutions for schedule issues and high-risk areas.  Coordinate with all segments and functional organizations to ensure the execution system is in alignment with the organizational processes and goals through the tactical management of the integrated master schedule.  Establish and maintain standard detailed project delivery schedule templates with key milestones identified. Through coordination with other segments, monitor, analyze, and provide direction on the general health, risks, and progress of the schedule. Advise management of the status of work in progress, critical need by and delivery dates, and potential delays to committed dates. Work under pressure and deadlines to manage ambiguity and uncertainty, while driving clarity. Work across organizational boundaries to build alignment and drive closure on issues and results. Telecommuting permitted 100% from any location within mainland U.S.        Requirements:

  • Education: Masters degree or foreign equivalent degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Business, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Three years of business project, program, and stakeholder management experience.
  • Specific Skill Requirements: This position requires at least 36 months of experience in: Project Scheduling, including planning and development of the integrated master schedule that covers all phases of large-scale construction projects from inception to completion; Critical Path Method; Microsoft Project Software; Change Management and Control; and Scaled/volume-based schedule analysis; and at least 24 months of experience in: Advanced MS Excel; and Continuous Process Improvement.

Pay Range and Benefits Information: The offered base pay range for this specific position (job code TSKCD18113), based in Redmond, WA (but telecommuting permitted 100% from any location in the U.S.), is $200,158 to $230,158.

Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time. 

At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus, and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
