Within WW Learning, the Global Field & Partner Learning team develops and leads cross-segment, role-based learning programs focused on increasing technical, industry, and professional capabilities, to measurably accelerate field and partner performance. Our team delivers learning programs to over 60,000 professionals across our field organization, and to over 1 million learners across our partner ecosystem.

As part of the Global Field & Partner Learning organization, the Technical Capabilities team host Technical Learning Specialists (TLS) who will focus on curating and developing learning content and materials for the four key solution areas (Apps & Infrastructure, Data & AI, Business applications & Modern workplace ) to increase the technical capabilities of our field and partners. This role is for a leadership position within the Modern Workplace Solution Area—covering areas such as Office, Windows, etc.

This will require content to be developed at least at proficiency Level 200 in partnership with the product teams to ensure learning content is timely, accurate, relevant and closely aligned with product roadmaps. As a lead of this team, you will own strategic planning, stakeholder management, ROB rhythms, people management, and mentoring and coaching the team. On the team, you can expect a mix of Learning Specialist roles, technical SMEs and Instructional Design Specialists to bring discipline, expertise, business standards and best practices to collaborate with our key stakeholders to develop innovative and engaging learning programs at scale.

This role will demonstrate exceptional leadership, organizational and communication skills and can work under compressed deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic environment that demands flexibility, high quality, and creativity. You and the team will partner with a wide range of stakeholders and teams to develop and deliver best-in-class content and training materials. Cross group Collaboration and influencing without authority is critical to ensure the greatest potential impact against our business objectives.



  • Lead a small team of Learning Specialists, Technical SMEs, and Instructional Design Experts.

  • Drive the strategic and planning rhythm for your team, plugging into a variety of other workstreams.

  • Coaching, mentoring and people management.

  • Leverage solution area identified subject matter expertise to curate or create the optimal content to enable learners to accelerate growth and performance. Demonstrate technical proficiency as required to build credibility with engineering leadership & provide value as the learning specialist and business enabler.

  • Partner closely with product teams to understand product roadmaps, updates, launches, go-to-market plans, and overall objectives and translate those into learning objectives and experiences.

  • Demonstrate understanding of learner skill gaps, and partner closely with product, business teams and across the Worldwide Learning organization to curate the most relevant, innovative, and timely content that demonstrates the value of Microsoft solutions

  • Enable Learners to accelerate growth and performance through Optimizing the learning experience through the best delivery modality, accessibility, discoverability, and usefulness for the learner.

  • Continuously test & assess the impact of the content on the learner, and the business in achieving its objectives.

  • Partner with expertise in Instructional Design to build world-class learning programs in a creative & exciting way that increases learner participation which drives technical capabilities for the {solution area}.

  • Develop innovative & engaging learning programs at scale through partnerships, collaboration and reuse of learning assets & experiences.

  • Develop operational excellence through consistent and robust practices, processes and documentation.

  • Advise stakeholders on best practices in adult learning such as social & peer learning, gamification of learning, informal learning, and real-time performance support.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s, MBA or related field preferred with 10+ years relevant experience

  • 5 years of leadership or people management experience

  • 10 years of working experience, 5 years of product group and business group experience

  • 5 years of working experience with Field Audience (Sales, Services or Partners)

  • In-depth Knowledge of technologies specifically in the area of Modern Workplace—e.g. Office, SharePoint, Windows, etc.

  • Demonstrated expertise collaborating across multiple stakeholder groups to deliver global solutions

  • Ability to Influence without or beyond the scope of authority

  • Effective analytical and project management skills, to deliver on time and on budget.

  • Extensive knowledge of the most current adult learning theories and approaches for education and learning design.

  • Curriculum and instructional design experience, including Kirkpatrick levels to measure impact

  • Able to create results in a fast paced environment while having a strong attention to detail while addressing the needs of competing priorities and deadlines.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
