Location: Redmond, WA, United States (On-site) Duration: 12+ Months Field: Display & Optics

Summary: Seeking an Image Quality Engineer to utilize simulation tools for modeling display systems’ performance and collaborate with a research team to enhance AR/VR product prototypes. The role requires deep MATLAB expertise and a strong foundation in display technologies and image processing.

Responsibilities:

1. Model end-to-end performance of display systems using simulation tools.

2. Analyze simulations to establish specifications and improve product performance.

3. Collaborate with scientists and engineers to drive system enhancements.

Qualifications:

1. BS in Engineering/Physics/Optics/Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/related field

2. Proficiency in MATLAB and knowledge of display technologies (μLED, OLED, etc.).

3. 3 to 5+ years of professional experience working on a product using optical/display technologies

Preferred:

1. Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Optical Engineering/Physics/Electrical Engineering.

2. 5+ years in advanced display/camera development or research.

3. Experience with image algorithm development for AR/VR and understanding of color science

Pay Range: $70-90/hour

The candidate should possess an intuitive understanding of complex systems, be capable of independent idea synthesis, have experience with color science and display calibration, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.

The role involves coding in MATLAB for AR Displays related to the Artemis project. Candidates should be adept at creating algorithms that encompass device physics to human perception.
