Responsibilities

  • Leading quality assurance and code review processes to mitigate risks and elevate network performance. Holds responsibility for crucial aspects of network implementation such as physical connections, power management, protocols, and qualification of design.

  • Harnessing optical network data for precise failure analysis and proactive monitoring enhancements.

  • Swiftly diagnosing and resolving network issues with minimal customer impact, backed by meticulous post-incident analysis as part of on-call responsibilities.

  • Pioneering automated solutions to optimize network operations and incident management workflows.

  • Streamlining network deployments by contributing to cutting-edge automation for rapid and efficient infrastructure expansion.

  • Identifying and addressing operational gaps with technical finesse and innovative automation strategies.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation.

  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation.

  • OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation.

  • OR Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 11+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation.

  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 8+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation

  • OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 6+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation

  • OR Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation.

  • 1+ year(s) experience delivering network designs into production and experience with live site accountability for a network.

  • 4+ years of experience delivering fiber optical network designs into production and live site accountability for a network.

Cloud Network Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
