Amazon Senior Software Development Manager, Project Kuiper in Redmond, Washington
Description
Have you wanted an opportunity to lead an embedded software team in an advanced satellite broadband telecom service? The Bus Software teams own embedded software, firmware for Kuiper satellite constellation.
This role is for a senior leader in Kuiper is responsible for driving roadmap, requirements and technical design across embedded components for different satellite hardware. You will work with your customers, partners to refine requirements, understand constraints, hiring & growing your team and iteratively delivering value to our customers.
Key job responsibilities
Work with our peer teams and customers to design suitable software systems and interfaces to fulfill the mission needs.
Develop a strategic plan for the growth of the team, both from a software services and organization perspective.
Hire & Develop a diverse team of software engineers.
Aid in the design of mission critical systems in Project Kuiper.
Collaborate with your fellow team members to form a strong foundation for a software organization in Project Kuiper
Help on-board and mentor new team members.

About the team
Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

Basic Qualifications
10+ years of engineering experience
5+ years of engineering team management experience
10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment
At least 7+ years of industry embedded experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience partnering with product and program management teams
Experience designing and developing large scale, high-traffic applications

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $176,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $342,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
