We are looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer- AI Platform to join the Experimentation Team at Microsoft, leading the charge under the Azure AI Platform. We're driving the future with ExP, one of the planet’s largest experimentation platforms, trusted by Microsoft's premier teams like Azure, Teams, Bing, and Office. With ExP, we're transforming decision-making through A/B testing, and enabling customers answer questions like: What factors affect the quality of the Bing user experience? What causes users to make a first payment with XBox? How does a new Outlook feature impact Office’s business metrics?

Responsibilities

  • Design and build new global-scale services and tools for Microsoft’s ExP platform 

  • Produce high quality code and performant systems with clear documentation 

  • Leverage thousands of product metrics to distill data insights and automate platform actions 

  • Collaborate with data scientists and cross-functional teams to improve platform capabilities and advance the field of online experimentation 

  • Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.

  • Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of experience in software development and product delivery 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven problem solving, design, coding and debugging skills from prior work on distributed systems, API design and engineering for scale  

  • Familiarity with modern frontend development and HTML, React, TypeScript or Node.js  

  • Experience applying Machine Learning or statistical data analysis to petabyte-scale data   

  • Experience with Azure or other cloud technologies  

  • Masters or PhD in computer science (or related field)

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
