Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer II in Redmond, Washington

The Microsoft Dataverse team is looking for a Software Engineer II to join our team. Microsoft Dataverse is a low-code no-code hyperscale software as a service (SaaS) data and AI platform, which is the bedrock of Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft Dynamics 365. While enterprise software and cloud services industry is still pivoting to the Generative AI revolution, Microsoft Dataverse is leading the pack by adding low-code/no-code AI capabilities like Copilot and AI services which deploys the power of a GPT grounded in enterprise data, into Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft Dynamics 365 application suite, used by Fortune 500 enterprises for their CRM and ERP needs. Dataverse is a strategic growth area for Microsoft, but more importantly, it is a disruptor technology that is giving access to a broader set of users in an enterprise, to create next generation of business productivity software via radically simplified experience and faster Return on Investment (ROI) for our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain microservices and components that support the Power Platform Connectors ecosystem.

  • Ensure high availability, scalability, performance, and reliability of the infrastructure across multiple regions and environments.

  • Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and partners to deliver end-to-end solutions that meet customer needs and expectations.

  • Apply best practices and standards for software engineering, code quality, security, and testing.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the engineering processes, tools, and culture.

  • Mentor and coach other engineers and share knowledge and feedback across the team.

Qualifications

Required Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in C# or a similar language.

  • 2+ years of experience working with microservices, containers, and cloud technologies, preferably Azure.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

  • Knowledge of network and web protocols, such as HTTP, REST, SOAP, OAuth, etc.

  • Experience dealing with multi-region, large-scale, complex infrastructures and distributed systems.

  • Experience with C#, PowerShell, Azure Compute, Azure DevOps, Git, or other scripting and automation tools.

  • Communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to learn new technologies and domains quickly and independently.

  • Passion for delivering high quality products and services that delight customers.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
