Job Description

As a Sales Delivery Expert, you will build lasting value by owning and executing key new business delivery activities while ensuring new business rating and implementation operate in streamlined fashion. You will support key sales activities through advising on product offerings, messaging and content. You will also collaborate with the Sales and new business consultants provide a high level of value and customer satisfaction.

You will also partner with Underwriting and Operations to increase medical and ancillary product sales in the Major-National Market segment. You will play an imperative role in assisting Sales and/or New Business by providing expertise and support as necessary to close accounts and improve market penetration within the assigned territory in order to achieve profitable growth goals.

  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to receiving, reviewing and submitting new business proposals, proactive follow-up with agent and/or client on any missing / incomplete information, entering prospect data into the sales database, running alternate plans, researching benefit questions, collaborating with the New Business Consultant and the Implementation Specialist to ensure timely and accurate group set-up, researching service related issues and transitioning the new group to the retention team once installation is completed.

  • Execute activities remotely with the agents and prospective clients to ensure seamless pre-sale and post-sale delivery of rating, products and offerings, including ad hoc communication, product issue research and resolution, ad hoc reporting, collateral production, etc.

  • Perform proactive agent and prospect outreach. Must have or gain a strong understanding of our product portfolio as well as the ability to work proactively to facilitate new business prospecting, rating and implementations both internally with the organization and externally with clients and agents by establishing and communicating business appropriate operational expectations.

  • Maintain current, accurate, and in-depth knowledge of health care legislation, corporate policies and procedures relative to benefits, rating, claims, billing, retention, and service capabilities.

  • Partner with New Business Consultant to plan sales strategies using all available sales aids. Develop of visual aids, charts, etc. for use in closing accounts.

  • Responsible for representing Blue Cross NC and explaining corporate policy and its efforts to contain rates through health care cost containment, utilization review, value-based contracting, etc.

  • Ensure proper, timely and accurate response to inquiries, databases and reports.

  • Establish liaison with group accounts; conduct enrollment meetings, train group administrators to enroll subscribers, change membership status, complete various forms, etc.

  • Make recommendations and suggestions for procedural changes when deemed necessary to achieve sales and service goals and objectives.

  • Must be capable of taking feedback from Account Executives, agents, prospective clients and within the organization to research and prepare follow-ups based on agent / prospective client needs.

  • Must have a strong understanding of all funding methodologies.

  • Support tailoring of sales content (i.e. presentations) to client-specific needs

  • Attend agent and prospect meetings and events and maximize knowledge of products, programs, services and the enterprise value story in support of segment specific business goals and objectives.

Hiring Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)

  • 3+ years of experience in related field

  • In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field

  • Must be able to obtain a North Carolina Health and Life Insurance license within the 60 days of employment in this position.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

  • Detailed knowledge of the health insurance or employee benefits industry.

  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office 365 Tools and Chrome is required.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and proactively with internal and external partners.

  • Ability to consistently meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.

  • Ability to interact professionally and confidently.

  • Proven experience in serving as a creative problem solver and in managing multiple tasks at once.

  • Ability to set priorities and embrace change.

  • Strong comfort level in working with, learning and assisting others with technology and tools.

  • Knowledge of Blue Cross NC’s product portfolio is a plus.

Salary Range

$50,200.00 - $80,300.00
