NewGround Senior Furniture Specialist in Remote, Ontario

NewGround International is a multidisciplinary firm specializing in strategy, design, build, and interiors. Our distinctive services encompass being a MillerKnoll dealer, among other leading furniture lines. We are presently in search of a contract employee to serve as a full-time Senior Furniture Specialist until February 2026. This role involves assisting in furniture selection, specification, creating installation drawings, and handling diverse tasks for our clients in finance, workplace, and retail sectors.

Ideal candidates for this role will excel in collaborative environments, possess prior experience in contract furniture dealerships, and demonstrate ease in working with colleagues both locally and across our regional offices throughout North America.

GENERAL SKILLS

• Understanding of Dealer Design Industry and furniture specifications

• Proficient creating furniture plans/installation drawings

• Proficient in navigating furniture manufacturers' websites and price books

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously

• Generate furniture design concepts and design finalization

• Produce, review, and pick up redlines for the installation drawings and furniture specifications

• Assist with providing information to establish project budgets

• Prepare/issue specification/drawing revisions as necessary

• Attend and/or facilitate in person or virtual client meetings/presentations, showroom tours, site visits, and final punch along with preparing appropriate documentation

• Collaborate and assist Senior Project Designers on headquarter projects

• Mentor Designers and Interns

• Coordinates with business development, architecture, engineering, digital, consultants, and build on projects and help guide all disciplines on furniture scope of projects

• Respond to Senior Project Designers, Project Executives, and Clients in a timely manner

• Complete projects on schedule and within established budget

• Perform all other related work, as assigned or as apparent*

EXPECTATIONS

• Travel required at times to assist with design presentations, client showroom tours, initial furniture installations, and final furniture punch

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE PREREQUISITES

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture or related field required

• Minimum four years of contract furniture dealership experience required

• Proficient with CET Designer

• Knowledge of CAP Worksheet is preferred

• Knowledge of InDesign is preferred

• NCIDQ, ARIDO, and/or IDC Certification strongly preferred; WELL AP and/or LEED preferred

• Possession of a valid G driver's license is required for rental cars
