PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $122,000.00-$149,100.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $94,500.00 - $176,500.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:

As a Senior Systems Analyst (SSA) at BECU, you’ll be instrumental in translating complex business requirements into functional system designs that drive organization-wide initiatives. Your deep technical knowledge and collaborative approach will ensure the delivery of innovative solutions that meet regulatory requirements, reduce technical debt, and enhance system functionality. As a subject matter expert, you’ll mentor other Systems Analysts, provide leadership across multiple products, and guide teams through technical challenges. Your contributions will help optimize BECU’s systems and processes, supporting both short-term and long-term business objectives.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead Business Case Creation: Drive the development of business cases and propose viable technology solutions that meet business demands, regulatory compliance, and reduce technical debt.

  • Collaborate on Roadmap and Requirements: Work with product owners and decision-makers to define, document, and communicate roadmap and sprint-level goals, user stories, and functional specifications.

  • Manage Complex Platforms: Oversee the management of critical software platforms, including configuration, data management, permissions, workflow, reporting, upgrades, and compliance.

  • Refine Complex Requirements: Analyze and refine intricate requirements and acceptance criteria, ensuring that business needs are accurately translated into technical specifications.

  • Coordinate with Vendors: Manage relationships with software vendors, translating functional specifications into vendor requirements and coordinating delivery.

  • Support Testing and Quality Assurance: Oversee user acceptance testing, manage test plans, and ensure bugs are resolved efficiently.

  • Manage System Installations: Lead the installation and configuration of patches, updates, and enhancements, ensuring systems are up to date across development, testing, and production environments.

  • Break Down Long-Term Goals: Assist business units in translating their long-term goals into actionable business objectives, documenting and prioritizing those objectives.

  • Stay Current with Change Management: Monitor and assess change management initiatives and their impact on the organization, presenting findings to leadership.

  • Lead Teams Through Delivery: Oversee delivery teams, identifying impacts on people, processes, and systems, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.

  • Maintain Application Lifecycle: Support the operational lifecycle of products, including administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintaining application roadmaps.

  • Ensure Communication Across Teams: Facilitate clear communication between end users, vendors, and IT teams to resolve production and development issues.

  • Manage Security and Compliance: Ensure cybersecurity practices are followed within your program portfolio and that solutions meet data privacy and regulatory requirements.

  • Create and Maintain Documentation: Develop technical documentation, user manuals, and system handouts that are consistent with system changes and updates.

  • Monitor Performance and Propose Improvements: Continuously monitor system performance, identify variances, and suggest necessary actions to optimize efficiency.

  • Mentor and Lead: Mentor less experienced team members, providing guidance on systems, configurations, and tools to foster growth and development.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related discipline, or equivalent work or educational experience.

  • Minimum of seven years of experience working with business software applications.

  • Working knowledge of Cloud Computing theory and usage.

  • Advanced skills with SQL and relational database concepts, including multiple methods for data analysis, reporting, and validation (e.g., SQL queries).

  • Proficiency with various change management approaches (Agile, Lean, TDD, Waterfall), and understanding of when to apply each.

  • Experience delivering across all phases of the system development lifecycle, including user story creation, test planning, CICD pipeline support, and production implementation.

  • Proven ability to manage solutions delivered in multiple programming languages and technical environments.

  • Understanding of software engineering vocabulary and data architecture, including experience with Azure DevOps, JIRA, or other Agile development tools.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly in end-user testing and training, with experience using tools such as Splunk or AppDynamics.

  • Experience creating and communicating strong business cases, including financial analysis, strategic alignment, and risk analysis.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a technical or related discipline.

  • Familiarity with SaaS and PaaS solutions, and knowledge of disaster recovery planning for applications and services.

  • Strong interpersonal skills that build rapport across all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize multiple tasks, and adapt to changing situations.
