Subcontract Employment: 1099/LLC and/or Indirect W2

Location: Remote w/ Travel within United States (Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Northwest, West)

Travel: 50%+

Shift: First and Flexible

Overview: As a Subcontracted Aerospace Industrial Engineering Advisor through Belcan, you will play a crucial role in enhancing aerospace manufacturing processes and systems. This position demands a proactive approach to improving production efficiency, optimizing design processes, and leading quality assurance strategies. The role requires flexibility, significant travel, and the capability to effectively implement solutions directly at client or supplier sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze aerospace production schedules, specifications, and orders to understand manufacturing methods and activities.

  • Design and optimize aerospace production processes for increased efficiency and reduced waste.

  • Develop and implement quality control strategies that enhance product reliability and reduce costs.

  • Collaborate with aerospace management and stakeholders to establish production and design standards.

  • Lead the specification of tooling and equipment to ensure effective aerospace product launches.

  • Optimize work center and factory layouts for improved line balancing and manpower efficiency in aerospace settings.

  • Review aerospace engineering documentation to ensure compliance with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.

  • Develop standard time data for labor operations and recommend design changes to lower manufacturing costs and enhance quality in aerospace manufacturing.

  • Coordinate cost-saving programs and participate in New Product Development (NPD) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) specific to aerospace to ensure successful product launches.

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship or ITAR compliance required.

  • Master"s in Industrial Engineering (MSIE), Bachelor"s in Industrial Engineering (BSIE), or Mechanical Engineering (BSME) with extensive experience.

  • Over 15 years of experience in manufacturing, particularly in aerospace assembly and production processes.

  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Experience in aerospace engineering preferred; automotive or vehicle production assembly background may also be applicable.

  • Demonstrated leadership in project management and cross-functional team collaboration.

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and a proven track record of leading improvement initiatives in aerospace settings (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma).

Travel Requirement:

  • This role is full-time with a heavy travel component, primarily focused on maintaining regional assignments when possible.

Salary guidelines for similar roles at Belcan are $65.00 - $100.00 per hour. Guidelines vary based on many factors including but not limited to education, qualifications, experience, discipline, geographic location, market, and business considerations.
