What's the job?
The National Accounts Manager - Retail will provide account leadership by promoting and servicing CertainTeed products and programs consistent with the overall business strategy of CertainTeed, incorporating the Sales and Marketing objectives of each business unit. The role will be responsible for developing and maintaining an intimate knowledge of assigned customers’ business strategies, operations and policies/procedures, key personnel and serve as the CertainTeed liaison across the businesses. The position is also responsible for managing assigned Retail Accounts maximizing account volume, price, and product mix to achieve established sales, profit, account, and share objectives. The National Accounts Manager – Retail, helps drive the strategic initiatives within the One CertainTeed strategy – working across Business units, departments, teams, and functions to minimize silos, maximize company opportunities and growth in the Retail Channel while striving to provide best in class performance. This position has a high frequency of direct customer contact with key personnel at all levels of the Retailer with the goal of understanding customer’s business model, strategy, and sales objectives to improve CertainTeed sales performance and productivity in support of Retailer’s defined objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
Develop and grow working relationships with key decision makers with assigned Retailers to effectively understand and penetrate account in all functional areas to further strengthen our position as a key supplier
Facilitate building internal relationships and interaction between customer leadership and CertainTeed management as well as forming cross-departmental relationships between CertainTeed and Retailer
Manage sales budgeting, trend forecasting, opportunity identification, growth strategies and tactics, resource requirements and key metrics
Deliver against sales targets, including coordination and communication with field sales teams across represented business units on a regular basis
Manage sales Analysis and Reporting – Including monthly, quarterly, and year-end business reviews with customer and CertainTeed management
Develop financial/incentive programs which balances the needs of both the customer and CertainTeed and provide proper framework for achieving growth and profitability goals set out by both parties
Be involved in credit deductions and deduction resolution as needed
Coordinate and manage a variety of seasonal customer events to showcase appropriate CertainTeed products and systems
Develop promotional activity in conjunction with BU sales leadership as needed to drive performance
Analyze relevant market and sales data to identify opportunities to expand product representation in assigned accounts to drive CertainTeed category penetration, performance and increase market share
Work with Operations and Supply Chain teams to achieve best-in-class service levels as defined by customer scorecard
Facilitate introductions and interaction between customer regional/district management and CertainTeed regional/territory sales management as needed or warranted
Participate in sales calls/meetings/presentations and informal relationship building/ networking; negotiation/follow-up and closing/order taking; account setup, order tracking, handling customer service issues, and forecasting

What do you bring?
Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in the required field.
A minimum of 7-10 years-related retail sales experience in the building products industry with an in-depth knowledge of the promotional practices, merchandising elements, laws, and procedures concerned with retail sales
Experience with Retail / Menards, The Home Depot, Lowe’s is required Building Materials background, Vinyl Siding a plus
Knowledge of electronic commerce a must including EDI, e-catalogs, e-business, QR Codes and other emerging technologies
Strong organizational and analytical skills and the ability multi-task and work on several projects at a time
Strong self-motivation, relationship building, and interpersonal skills are required
Must have a strong ability to influence others, both the buyers and internal customers (CertainTeed)
Strong organizational and time management skills required with an ability to strategize and effectively plan activities
Capability to work within and across sales territories and regions encompassing several product divisions to meet sales and marketing goals within assigned budgets
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools
Ability to travel up to 25%
