IBM Infrastructure Transformation Cost Analyst in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

Your Role and Responsibilities

The Cost Engineering team is seeking an experienced individual that can help manage an opportunity in the Systems division to reduce cost. This individual will partner heavily across teams in finance, supply chain, product management and procurement.

The Cost Analyst will be responsible for leading Storage Brand cost initiatives and will require building and maintaining relationships across various financial organizations. Specifically, this role will heavily focus on cost optimization opportunities to drive year to year improvement.

You will join a passionate team of highly skilled experts that are fun-spirited, collaborative, innovative and highly ingenious in finding win/win opportunities for the business to generate cash.

Job Duties:

Work with stakeholders and others in a multidisciplinary team to seek out new innovative opportunities that optimize multiple areas of cost

Leverage financial analysis and data science to develop business cases including cost, pricing, competitive benchmarking to support cost optimization and process improvements

Leverage business development acumen to validate interest and stakeholder buy-in

As a core member of the Cost engineering team, you will expected to independently lead efforts to discover new opportunities and form the right support team to frame a plan for senior leadership to formally adopt such cost optimization initiatives. The team will help you achieve your goals with continuous collaboration and professional development.

About the Cost Engineering team:

The Cost Engineering team is a small, but highly skilled group of professionals with a cross-disciplinary background that is uniquely leveraged to find innovate Cost savings across the Systems division.

You must be willing and able to perform job duties in Raleigh, NC

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 10+ years of experience in a cost-related role including experience in supply-chain, procurement, or finance.

  • 5+ years of experience in Systems, as a subject-matter expert and advisor.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading complex projects that involve cross-team collaboration

  • Exposure to supply chain, procurement, development, product management, and business development

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • IBM Systems experience, particularly with Storage and hardware offerings

  • Direct experience with cost analysis

  • An MBA or 5+ years working directly with finance or procurement

Location StatementSupplemental 1 employees may be eligible for up to 8 paid holidays, minimum of 56 hours paid sick time and the IBM Employee Stock Purchase Plan. IBM offers paid family medical leave and disability benefits to eligible employees where required by applicable law. The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
