Energy Efficiency Learning Facilitator and Coordinator

Location: Reston, VA

LOB/Portfolio: Commercial/ Industrial Energy Programs (CIEP)

Are you passionate about empowering learning and fostering professional growth? We’re seeking a dynamic Learning Facilitator and Coordinator with a background in energy management and energy efficiency to join our team. You’ll drive impactful learning experiences, ensuring our U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) client’s ENERGY STAR® Partnership stakeholders in the industrial and commercial markets actively engage with the instructional materials you present as well as retain and apply their newly acquired knowledge.

Responsibilities:

  • Training Delivery: Present/facilitate engaging and effective training sessions, both virtually and in-person, covering technical and soft skills.

  • Meeting Facilitation: Facilitate engaging meetings and workshops, both virtually and in-person, often supporting brainstorming and solutioning discussions.

  • Training Development: Coordinate with subject matter experts to develop training content, complementary resources, and job aids, all leveraging instructional design principles.

  • Customer Support: Provide exceptional customer service and support to internal and external stakeholders during virtual and in-person training deliveries, meetings, and other events.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure training materials meet high standards by conducting thorough reviews.

  • Project Management: Lead and contribute to learning initiatives, and coordinate tasks and timelines, including the management of training courses.

  • Collaboration: Work seamlessly with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts, fostering a collaborative environment.

  • Problem-Solving: Analyze challenges, make informed decisions, and implement effective solutions.

  • Independence and Initiative: Prioritize multiple tasks independently, demonstrating proactive initiative.

  • Ethical Conduct: Uphold sound business ethics, safeguarding proprietary and confidential information.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in energy, environmental policy, environmental science, education for adult learners, or a related field and 5 years of experience in learning content design, presentation, facilitation, and coordination of training-related projects.

OR

  • Master’s degree in energy, environmental policy, environmental science, education for adult learners, or a related field and 3 years of experience in learning content design, presentation, facilitation, and coordination of training-related projects.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Presentation Skills: Strong ability to engage and captivate diverse audiences when presenting training.

  • Communication: Proficient in oral and written communication skills, especially in support of technical training, public speaking, communications tools, and/or professional development and learning activities.

  • Technical and Soft Skills Training: Proven experience in both domains.

  • Project Management: Previous responsibilities for quality assurance and task/project management.

  • Team Player: Highly organized team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

  • Tech Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Teams).

  • Confidentiality: Demonstrates discretion in handling sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of EPA Climate Partnership Programs (e.g., knows the language and messaging for ENERGY STAR and strategic energy management).

  • Experience with training-related projects in energy efficiency, particularly for manufacturers.

  • Experience with learning management systems (e.g., registrations, report generation, etc.).

  • Experience using Mural or other interactive whiteboarding platforms.

  • Willingness to travel (5-10%).

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$79,643.00 - $135,392.00
