Google Power Monitoring Execution Engineer, Google Data Center in Reston, Virginia

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 4 years of experience in site-level data center or mission critical facility management.

  • 4 years of experience designing, commissioning, and operating SCADA Electrical Power Management System (EPMS), from client/server HMIs, historians, and instrumentation and input/output interfaces.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience as a controls engineering lead for systems integration in a design or construction capacity.

  • Knowledge of multiple PLC/SCADA packages as applied to critical cooling and/or power systems.

  • Knowledge of data centers electrical infrastructure systems.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time as needed.

With your technical expertise, you ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop infrastructure improvements and serve as an expert in your specialty (e.g., cooling, electrical).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$207,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Collaborate with teams to develop data center monitoring and control system designs (e.g., basis of design, constructability, infrastructure expansions and retrofits).

  • Manage all control system engineering issues during design, bidding, implementation, and testing. Identify and resolve issues raised by cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Collaborate across disciplines and functions (e.g., mechanical, electrical, networking, project management, operations) and understand interrelated issues. Maintain internal design specifications, drawings, and standards to the latest configurations.

  • Provide technical support to Operations and Project Managers (PM) in resolving all of the PMs related issues.

  • Develop and maintain functional relationships across multidisciplinary teams to anticipate future controls and monitoring design requirements.
