CVS Health Staff Software Development Engineer - Release Integrity in Richardson, Texas

The Staff Software Development Engineer must have a fundamental understanding of configuration standards and software deployment techniques within an AS400 iSeries ecosystem and platform. Responsibilities include developing and implementing technical and procedural solutions adhering to and ensuring others adhere to established methodologies, standards, and guidelines to accomplish successful deployment of code, file, and related components within weekly and monthly release cycles. The Staff Software Development Engineer is expected to champion software development life cycle (SDLC) methods and best practices to ensure that quality standards are met. The role requires the individual to monitor and ensure all preparations for software deployment standards are achieved within a complex AS400 iSeries software release cadence.

As a Staff Software Development Engineer, you will:

  • Monitor and advise peer teams regarding change management and release management techniques.

  • Facilitate standards are met for DB2 file/table implementations.

  • Provide problem resolution and guidance to other team members and support operations.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of broad IBM i (AS/400) development experience and having served in a Technical Lead or similar role.

  • 5+ years of experience in native IBM i development, RPG, CL.

  • 3+ years of experience in a development environment that used a change management tool and release management approach to production deployments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of RxClaim development experience

  • 2+ years of Configuration Management experience

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Will consider High School Diploma/GED plus one year of work experience for each year of college not attained in addition to required years of experience.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$118,450.00 - $247,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
