The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and analysis of the voltage regulators and its subcomponent assemblies. This will require the use of accurate engineering principles and practices to successfully complete the required tasks! Additionally, the position will support R&D projects, manufacturing equipment improvements, and equipment modeling. This position will report directly to the Head of Engineering at the voltage regulator factory in Richland, MS.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Electrical design of Voltage Regulators. Perform electrical calculations on the voltage regulator components (transformer winding, core, insulation, heat transfer etc.) to support product design and development.

  • Use cutting-edge 2D software to prepare engineering drawings and bills of material.

  • Lead and collaborate on R&D projects for further product improvements.

  • Assist the manufacturing team with equipment improvement projects.

  • Support drafting technicians with drawing creation and revisions.

  • Troubleshoot issues when Engineering support is required.

  • Efficiently communication multiple functional groups (sales/marketing, procurement, suppliers, manufacturing, Quality etc.) for the flawless execution of customer requirements.

What You Bring

  • 2+ yearn, Bachelor’s Degree, electrical engineering required. Master’s Degree preferred.

  • Must have the Knowledge of the electrical transmission or distribution systems and IEEE standards.

  • Excellent understanding of Power System & application of transformer & Voltage Regulator required.

  • Self-motivated to produce high quality results within the time allocated, with limited supervision.

  • Proficiency with AutoCad, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Adobe Acrobat. Ability to learn new software.

  • Experience in the Power industry with voltage regulator/transformer products, low/medium/high voltage products or electrical substations.

  • Knowledge of transformer design parameters and its significance in modifying or optimizing the design structure

  • Experience with SAP and strong understanding of design-to-cost and design-to-manufacturing principles.
