Job Responsibilities/Duties

Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) seeks an Auditor who will plan, schedule, direct and conduct audits, investigations, studies, surveys, reviews and other evaluations/assessments of financial and/or operational activities in order to identify risks and controls, conclude on the effectiveness of controls, and determine how the effectiveness of the internal controls affects achievement of corporate objectives and compliance with corporate policies and procedures, Department of Energy (DOE) Orders and Directives, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and Government Cost Accounting Standards, as applicable. This position will perform audits of subcontractors to ensure compliance to contract, FAR and reviews/evaluations of accounting systems. In addition, this position will support the overall audit organization internal metrics, project management and any other deliverables.

Ensure Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS) principles are incorporated into organization's activities.

  • Under general supervision of an audit lead or program manager, performs project Electronic Data Processing (EDP) systems reviews and analytics, general and application controls reviews, security reviews, application life cycle audits, Compatibility Assessment Automation Tool (CAAT) support, and special EDP requests utilizing standard EDP audit techniques and performs operational and financial audits of assigned areas and functions.

  • Supports EDP and regular audit procedures appropriate to areas of audit assignment, including implementation of computer assisted audit techniques. Develops EDP technical skills along with the ability to perform risk assessments and control evaluations to support audit opinions.

  • Responsible for performing and documenting audit tests utilizing standard audit techniques in accordance to applicable auditing standards (i.e., IIA, AICPA, PCOAB).

  • Assist in developing and implementing efficient and effective strategies for audit performance.

  • Review company systems and related controls including policies, procedures, technical documents, DOE Orders and Directives, Federal Acquisition Regulations and Government Cost Accounting Standards to insure the company is operating within guidelines and in compliance.

  • Documents and evaluates internal controls. Review procedures, conduct interviews, prepare system descriptions and flowcharts.

  • Prepares reports of audit finding and recommendations.

  • Performs audit follow-ups.

  • Functions in a highly professional and confidential manner.

  • Assists with research on laws, regulations and contract obligations related to risk assessment, fieldwork and reporting to ensure opinions are well supported.

  • Performs audits and begins utilizing project management and communication techniques to ensure audits are completed on time with high quality.

  • Coaches, trains and exhibits the standard audit performance objectives in addition to achievement of leadership objectives with audit executive support.

  • Acts in a manner that demonstrates meeting or exceeding behavioral attributes in a consistent manner.

  • Communicates progress, findings and recommendations clearly, concisely and in a logical manner.

  • Utilize computer programs to evaluate and sample data.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Grade 13:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Grade 14:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field, or 2 years equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

  • Knowledge of MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.

Compensation & Benefits

In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, WRPS takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made within the targeted hiring range posted. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.

Minimum Hiring Range: $63,125

Maximum Hiring Range: $87,538
