Job Duties/Scope Of Work JOB SUMMARY: This position will perform day-to-day operations and long-term development for Networked National Security Systems operated by the HMIS Safeguards and Security (SAS) organization. This includes support for modeling interfaces with security specialists within the HMIS Safeguards and Security (SAS) organization for modeling/simulation of protection for DOE assets. The selected candidate will apply technically justified techniques for modeling complex attack/defender rolls for the protection of DOE assets and will collaborate with other Security Specialist and Protective Force (PF) members as Subject Matter Experts for their respective disciplines. Essential job duties include, but are not limited to the following: • Maintain the Networked National Security Systems hardware and software, ready to support planned operations including disaster recovery plans. • Coordinate the efforts of support personnel and other system administrators in maintaining system hardware and software. • Serve as Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server Administration. • Create ad-hoc reports and queries on demand using Transact-SQL. • Design, code, test, and implement new software features of VB.Net applications. • Implementation of cyber security requirements for Networked National Security Systems. • Interface with users and other administrators of the Networked National Security Systems. • Review and understand federal directives, contract requirements, and procedures associated with safeguards and Security programs. • Provide support to modeling programs such as ATLAS, Troupe, and Simajin. • Model physical aspects of facilities and protection strategies required by Design Basis Threat requirements. • Participate in exercises and drills of the protection strategy to ensure understanding of physical activities performed by both attackers and defenders of DOE assets. • Properly handle, account for and protect classified matter/media. • Any additional tasks as assigned by management. Basic Qualifications • BA/BS degree plus five (5) years of related experience in Computer Science, Mathematics or Chemistry, or related discipline. • Understand basic statistics, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. • Experience with Microsoft Office products. • Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Windows Server network administration, user rights management, and group policy. • Ability to write VBScript/PowerShell scripts. • Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Windows SQL Server administration, database design and database user accounts/roles. • Ability to write ad-hoc SQL queries using SQL Server Tools and stored procedures. • Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft VB.net database programming, and networking concepts. • Ability to learn all requirements for nuclear material accountability. • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" level security clearance. *Must be able to obtain and maintain a "Q" Clearance.
