POSITION SUMMARY Organize the storage and distribution of goods throughout the Madison-Kipp supply chain. Allocate and manage the staff resources according to the changing needs of our business climate. Analyze logistic problems and develop new solutions that adhere to customer and internal needs. Supervise direct reports to effectively manage labor and development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Follow health and safety procedures to effectively maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Good working knowledge of MKCs ERP system, with a special focus on shipping, receiving, serialized labels, RMAs, customer releases, invoicing and ASN transmission.
  • Analyze the daily customer demand through use of the ERP system and customer websites to plan daily and weekly deliveries. Ensure all deliveries arrive according to the
  • customer routing and delivery windows.
  • Maintain inventory integrity through daily cycle counts.
  • Establish strong working relationships with all customer and transportation contacts.
  • Manage the shipping and receiving personnel at all locations to maintain safe and efficient dock operations.
  • Carries out supervisory/leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, leading, and directing work, managing performance, providing regular, appropriate feedback; preparing and delivering employee reviews and addressing discipline matters as they arise.
  • Prepare and maintain training and operating procedures for all shipping and receiving personnel. This includes all recordkeeping regarding CDLs and DOT.
  • Review shipping schedules and develop cost-effective routings.
  • Audit all freight invoices for correctness.
  • Work with all functional departments and plants to coordinate shipping activities.
  • Attends and directs shipping direct reports to carry out physical inventory activities.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS Typical office conditions with extensive standing and walking in distribution center or manufacturing plants. Subject to forklift and truck traffic, along with noise, smoke, oil residues, and heat from the manufacturing environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Physical requirements are to lift up to 40 pounds. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally bend and move about the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 to 5 years in a warehouse lead, supervisor, or management position.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Strong computer skills with ERP systems and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Must be able to obtain fork truck certification through MKC.
  • Must be able to work under general supervision and exercise independent judgment and decision-making, following departmental and company policies and procedures.
