[ELK Construction, LLC was founded in 2018 and continues steady growth. We pride ourselves in quality craftsmanship and our professional attitude towards our clients and industry partners and we work hard to ensure the details of our work are exacting so that we exceed our customers expectations. Our work primarily consists of decks, outdoor structures, home renovations and additions and the occasional commercial project. We typically self-perform the following tasks:]{calibri",sans-serif"=""}

• Layout and place concrete foundations.
• All aspects of rough and finish carpentry including installation of cabinets.
• Installing and flashing windows and doors and related hardware.
• Insulation.
• Siding and exterior trim.
• Drywall and drywall finishing (occasionally).
• Pre-finished hardwood flooring.
• Ceramic tile (occasionally)

• Professional appearance and attitude.
• Good communication skills, both talking and listening.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation to work.
• Knowledge and practice of construction safety.
• Enthusiasm.
• Good physical condition, stamina, and dexterity.
• Problem solving skills.
• Whatever it takes attitude toward getting projects accomplished with impeccable quality.
• Basic hand tools and the knowledge to use them. Basic hand tools include: Tool belt, hammer, tape measure, square, nail set, chisel, end-cutting pliers, utility knife
• [Basic math skills including:]{calibri",sans-serif"=""}
  • Add/subtract/multiply/divide fractions
  • Converting fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions.
  • Multiplication and division

[The following safety equipment must be worn at all times:]{calibri",sans-serif"=""}

• Safety glasses (provided by ELK Construction)
• Work boots (no tennis shoes)
• Shirt with 4 sleeves or longer

[Carpenter Helper [Preferred minimum of 1-2 years experience working in residential construction. Pay is commensurate with experience.]{calibri",sans-serif"=""}]{calibri",sans-serif"=""}

• Must be willing and eager to learn or continue to learn carpentry techniques and methods.

``` - Must be able to read a tape measure accurately and to 1/16. - Ability to identify tools and materials (i.e., know what a circular saw is, know what a 2x4 is, know what a sheet of plywood is) - Experience using power, battery or pneumatic tools a plus. - [Duties will include:]{calibri",sans-serif"=""} - Set up and take-down tools daily. - Daily clean-up of jobsite and tools. - Tote materials and tools where and as needed. - Follow the direction of and assist carpenters. - Excavating post holes by hand. - Installation of building hardware (e.g., joist hangers, hurricane ties, post bases, post caps). - Carpentry related tasks compatible with level of experience.
