SAIC Cloud Automation Manager in RICHMOND, Virginia

Description

SAIC is currently looking for a Cloud Automation Manager. The Cloud Automation Manager is responsible for overseeing the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's cloud automation infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, automated deployment and ordering of cloud-based services. This role involves expertise in cloud environment design, engineering, quality assurance, troubleshooting, database management, security, compliance, backup, disaster recovery, performance optimization, automation, issue resolution, collaboration, and documentation.

This is a Hybrid remote role. It will require working on site 2 days a week in Richmond, VA.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Cloud Workflow Design and Development: Design, develop, and ensure the quality assurance and testing of cloud automation workflows to meet organizational needs utilizing Morpheus Cloud Management Platform.

· Cloud Standards and Practices: Apply experienced knowledge of standards, practices, and automation for cloud infrastructure.

· Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution : Troubleshoot and resolve issues impacting operational systems and services, ensuring minimal downtime.

· Database Management: Manage the organization's databases, including design, installation, configuration, backup, recovery, and performance tuning.

· Cloud Service Selection: Evaluate cloud services and select the most appropriate services for development based on customer demand and automation capabilities.

· Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain robust security measures for both cloud and database environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

· Backup and Disaster Recovery: Ensuring information security by recommending and implementing benchmarks best practices regarding backup and recovery of the cloud automation environment.

· Performance Optimization: Monitor and analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve efficiency.

· Automation: Implement automation and orchestration tools to streamline cloud provisioning, database management tasks, and routine maintenance.

· Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, program leadership, customer leadership, and security professionals, to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud-based services and databases.

· Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of cloud configurations, database schemas, policies, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field and nine (9) or more years of total experience ; Masters and seven (7) or PhD and four (4). May accept an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.

· Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated expertise in cloud infrastructure management.

· Proven experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and database management systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB.

· Strong understanding and experience of networking, security, and data management best practices.

· Experience with automation and scripting languages such as AWS CLI, PowerShell, Python.

· Experience with Morpheus Cloud Management Platform is a large plus.

· Industry certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator, or equivalent

· Must be able to pass a background check
