The Facilities Management Team is hiring a temporary part-time intern who will be assigned to observe, assist and receive training in a broad range of activities in the Facilities Department in the Electrical trades. This will be an eight-month immersive job experience where the intern will work directly with the Electrical plant operators. Specific duties and job schedule will be created for the position to meet the specific needs of the Bank. All work performed by the intern will be supervised by local Facilities Management staff.

*** Work consists of up to 20 hours per week

*** Rate offered will be $21.50/hr

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical – General assistance such as replacing light fixtures or pulling wire.

  • Entry level skill with use of specialized electrical testing and monitoring equipment, instrumentation equipment, and tools of the trade

  • Working knowledge of central electrical plant operations

  • Performs installation of a variety of electrical systems such as emergency power generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, breakers, HVAC and circuits to support facility maintenance, renovations, and construction

  • Performs preventive and corrective electrical maintenance and repairs to facility generation and transmission equipment

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and safely

  • Electrical

  • Progressive knowledge of construction and operation of electrical and emergency power systems

  • Proficient troubleshooting, analytical, and decision-making skills supporting effective evaluation and response to emergency situations

  • Complies strictly with local fire protection codes, state building codes, national electrical code and national life safety code

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED and aptitude of building trades required.

  • Must be enrolled in a Electrical trade school

  • Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint along with computerized building automation systems

Other/Physical Requirements:

  • Candidate must be willing and able to:

  • Lift up to 25 pounds

  • Reach and grasp with hands

  • Tolerate a work environment with moderate to excessive noise from equipment

  • Work in both an indoor office environment and outdoor conditions, including hot and cold temperatures, wind, and light rain.
