Scope of Job
Provide assistance in continuous improvement of business processes and reporting through planning, designing, prioritizing, testing, and implementation of business enhancement requests for the Division.
Description of Duties
Defines, gathers, analyzes, and documents business processes and requirements for the assigned ERP module.
Defines system enhancements’ scope and objectives to ensure alignment with overall business strategies to support the ongoing needs of UTRGV .
Drives and participates in the design, testing, and implementation of new enhancements, functionality, and process improvements.
Translates business requirements into ERP solutions.
Works closely with developers and subject matter experts to ensure requirements and functional designs are translated accurately into technical designs to meet business requirements.
Strategic partner with business process owners throughout UTRGV to understand the need and use of specified data, and provide insight to improve the effectiveness, efficiencies and capabilities of the institution.
Provides guidance to the report writers on how to design complex reporting and validates what is being built is operationally sound.
Builds reports to support operational needs and to help scope the assigned area Division for upcoming reporting requests.
Collaborates with business management, end-users, and other stakeholders.
Identifies, creates, and coordinates job aids, change documentation and university communication, as well as provides support to end users regarding matters over reporting and business process improvement.
Ensures the accuracy of the assigned areas information as presented in the various information/reporting systems used by UTRGV , including but not limited to Hyperion Planning, Power BI, and Finance & Planning supported dashboards.
Works with business process owners throughout UTRGV to understand the need and use of data, and provide insight to improve the effectiveness, efficiencies, and capabilities of the institution.
Researches and troubleshoots production issues related to the assigned module.
Performs functional testing and troubleshoots issues during ERP upgrades.
Maintains ERP configurations and integration with other applications.
Act as liaison between technical developers and functional departments.
Performs routine System area related tasks and serves as back-up to other System’s staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Business Information System, Accounting, Business Administration, or Bachelor’s degree related to functional area assigned related field from an accredited university.

Required Experience
Three (3) years’ professional experience working with functional business process improvement developing strong functional skills in the related ERP systems applications including experience in report writing, system set-up and configuration. Technical knowledge and experience with large-scale database systems. Experience with documentation of processes.
Preferred Experience
Working knowledge of data analysis, retrieval and preparation for external/internal system interfaces, in a complex data environment. Experience in building and maintaining high quality, relational databases for use by non-technical end users. Experience in business process reengineering that directly led to improve productivity, efficiency, attained goals and/or minimized negative impacts due to necessary changes from internal/external requirements/factors. Experience with a large system implementation or upgrade project.
Experience with a large system implementation or upgrade project. Experience in one or a combination of the following: data analysis and retrieval, conducting detailed assessments of business functions to develop operating plans and summaries, analyzing fixes for functional impact, assisting in fix testing, and assisting in modifications re-application testing, providing technical guidance regarding capabilities, limitations and operational requirements of a variety of systems.
Equipment
Use of standard office equipment. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, and SQL reporting tool.
Working Conditions
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office Environment; some travel and constant weekend work is required. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Work is performed primarily in a general office environment and can be performed remote within close proximity to a UTRGV campus. If the work is performed remote high-speed internet and a designated workspace are required.
