Job Description Summary

The Combustion Aero Design Lead is responsible for supporting design, development and validation of gas turbine combustion systems, including development rig and engine test campaigns, planning, monitoring, data reduction and documentation.

In this role you will learn processes that meet business needs across the organization, participate in solving complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for

• Execute and lead combustion aero design, conceptual, preliminary & detailed design.

• Execute and coordinate simulation and analysis in real combusting environment, to evaluate propose new design solutions, understand, optimize impact on fuel air mixing, emissions, performance, and combustion dynamics.

• Contribute to develop and advance the combustion aero technology roadmap to support next generation combustion system development.

• Lead complex task related to Technology maturation such as Single component test and/or Full Annular Test, in coordination with different working groups for the design and the manufacturing, including external suppliers.

• Successful planning, design and execution of test programs

• Compliant communications of aero technical data

• Basic technical implications of business CTQ’s.

• According with the field lesson learnt provide feedback to improve/align current Design Practices and methods.

• Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business

• Remain current in the state of the art within own technical specialty for new products introduction activity, performance improvements, cost reductions and problem resolutions.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Master’s degree in Engineering from an accredited University; Aerospace or Mechanical with a focus on combustion aerodynamics preferred

• Previous experience in combustion aerodynamics design and validation

• Familiarity with New Product Introduction/New Technology Introduction processes

• Experience in an engineering function in execution, leading project program in mechanical or aero thermal design/analysis or combustion aerodynamics.

• Technical aptitude in combustion science, experimental testing and large data processing

• Clear thinker and effective problem solver

• Fluency in Italian and English

• Work VISA, according to local regulation, is required
