GE Aerospace Services Engineering – Turbine Deputy Module Integration Leader in Rivalta di Torino, Italy

Job Description Summary

We are looking for a talented Deputy Module Integration Leader (MIL), expected to coordinate and lead activities within Services Engineering organization.

In this role you have to coordinate and execute tasks relevant to turbine modules inside the Service Engineering flanking the MIL.

The position is requiring leadership into investigation for field issues with direct collaboration with product line, product support engineering, overhaul shops and global supply chain organizations.

Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed.

Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution and focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Supports the integrations of component and product. All activities that span multiple components and products and are concerned with how to integrate for maximum performance and operability. Manages product and systems requirements, specifications and flow down. Drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level testing. Defines product requirements for the module / component / subcontractors and partners teams. Manages interface between components and execution organizations.Together with MIL, is Responsible for driving CTQ / Risk trades within the teams designing the components. Supports MIL in managing the overall product configuration and configuration control system.

  • Has knowledge of best practices and how the own area is linked with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.

  • May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

  • Adopts Standard Work in line with Flight Deck

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Aeronautical or mechanical engineering degree from an accredited university or college

  • Experience in services engineering department

  • Knowledge of Avio Aero and GE Aviation processes, tools and procedures

  • Knowledge of LPT modules and components

  • Fluent written and spoken English

  • Knowledge in failure analysis

  • Willingness to directly interact with several internal and external customers: hold meetings, lead activities focusing on targets

  • Ability to sort through information and make timely and sound decisions

  • Able to prioritize work, and communicate openly in stressful situations

  • Good interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Only GE Avio Srl current employees are eligible

  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge of aeronautical Certification rules, ie EASA Part 21 and Part 145
