Job Description Per Diem (On-Call)

Processes outpatient accounts including third party insurance. Reviews electronic billing documents prior to submission. Contacts third party payers for status of accounts, reviews trial balance, posting payments and applies insurance allowances, assist patients and family members.

Job Responsibility

• • Posts charges for services/procedures incurred during medical center visit and reviews for inconsistencies.
• • Submits claims.
• • Reviews and corrects claim submission reports errors/denials.
• • Reviews accuracy of demographic and insurance information on patient accounts.
• • Posts payments and applies insurance adjustments.
• • Identifies billing software modifications in order to optimize reimbursement/revenue and notifies supervisor.
• • Assists with training and orientation of staff.
• • Monitors insurance aging reports to maximize successful claims submissions.
• • Contacts insurance companies to follow up on insurance accounts issues and delinquent accounts.

• Helps patients with their inquiries regarding their bills or visits.

• Performs related duties, as required.

• Essential Functions

Job Qualification

• High School diploma or equivalent, required.

• Minimum of one (1) year related business and/or billing experience, required.

• Knowledge of third party billing and reimbursement procedures with a clear understanding of automated billing techniques and data processing systems.

• Knowledge of billing regulatory agency laws and requirements.

The salary range for this position is $26.72-$27.65/hour
