Wolters Kluwer Senior Financial Planning Analyst (Hybrid: Wichita, KS or Riverwoods, IL) in Riverwoods, Illinois

This is a hybrid role - with the expectation of two days in office at Wichita, KS or Riverwoods, IL (Tuesday/Wednesday) and the rest of the week would be remote.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will report directly to the Director of Finance, responsible for EBITA/cash flow financial reporting and development/technology expense reporting for the segment. As well, this position is heavily involved in the coordination of the forecasting and planning duties and other associated financial activities for the unit. In addition, you will function as a business partner to the areas you support and to the segment CFO, working directly with them in monthly reporting, and developing the annual budget and three-year strategic business development planning process. You will also act as a key resource to the larger organization for complex financial data and analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for reporting, forecasting, planning, and all associated activities for the Tax & Accounting division

  • Report monthly financial results ensuring applicable processes, policies, and key internal controls of the business unit and Wolters Kluwer are understood and followed by personnel.

  • Analyze and interpret financial information pertaining to the company’s performance while understanding business issues and advising on concerning business policy, resource allocation, and business operations to improve the company’s financial performance.

  • Assist in developing the creation of the annual budget and three-year Business Development Plan, detailing revenue, and profit expectations, along with strategic and tactical plans.

  • Prepare forecasts and evaluate corresponding efficiencies, productivity, and other initiatives, as applicable.

  • Develop business cases for cost savings initiatives and assist in driving to completion.

  • Responsible for creating and modifying system automated revenue, expense, and headcount reports on an as needed basis.

  • Oversee components of the division’s cash flow forecasting including responsibility for capital tracking and reporting.

  • Participate in the monthly financial closing process via submission of key accruals and other necessary journal entries.

  • Participate and recommend efficiencies and opportunities for process improvement within given responsibility.

  • Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point

  • Function as an integral part of a team and build positive relationships and credibility.

  • Comfortable communicating cross-functionally and with geographically distributed, virtual teams and various levels of leadership including executive level management.

  • Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to work on own initiative.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of business finance experience including financial analysis, budgeting, and modeling with at least one year of experience in financial reporting

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting

  • Candidates should have a successful track record as a business partner or leader; proven ability to successfully influence in a complex, high performing, finance organization.

  • Must have outstanding knowledge of Excel and other database tools.

  • Up to 5% travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Software industry

  • SAP experience

  • Planning/reporting software experience such as Oracle SmartView, Tagetik and Infor

  • MBA or CPA preferred
