Job Description

Job Title: West Gulf, Financial Controller Manager

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

About the role:

Financial Controller, WG will be responsible for managing accounting matters and accuracy of the IFRS & management reporting, statutory accounting, and compliance with SOX (where relevant), ensuring proper controls. This role also will be responsible to ensure co-ordination with Takeda Business Solutions (TBS) team to ensure countries in the EAMEA Area are complying with TBS ways of working.

The incumbents will manage the operational accounting and audit process for multiple workstreams relevant to

revenues, distributor relationship & contract management, Opex, internal/external audit, maintaining proper financial controls and guidelines. Incumbents should be able to act as a business partner and coordinate with all operational functions to ensure compliant with Takeda Policies and maintain a good channel of communication between both LOC & TBS.

Furthermore, incumbents will be responsible to consolidate all revenue & opex data analysis on monthly basis to ensure proper and compliant accounting treatment for the accounting transactions.

How you will contribute:

Key accountabilities

Ensure adequate controls on revenue booking through managing the monthly closing for the financials of West Gulf Countries:

  • Manages relationship with West Gulf distributors related to all financials matters

  • Governs the complexity end to end process of G2N and deals with external/internal auditors regarding all related matters

  • Provides financial support to set commercial terms that serves the best interest of the company (payment terms, expiry, inventory, etc.)

  • Supports contracts revision /contracts amendments / new contracts establishment / STARS

  • Owns complicated sensitive customers process and issues related to find innovative solutions along with finance & global treasury team.

  • Overseas accounts receivables to mitigate against collection risks / unapplied cash / bad debts

  • Leads credit limit management process and orders release to ensure regular product supply with less interruption while protecting company’s financials

  • Manages month end revenue closing to ensure proper accruals are maintained and applies robust controls on respective distributors claims  

  • Leads quarterly calls with controllers from all legal entity controllers/GEM to discuss customer AR status, BDP required, any changes or impacts for the quarter (very high visibility)

  • Business partnering with different cross functional departments to ensure compliance with existing policies, processes, contract management and dispute resolution.

  • Working closely with accounting team to ensure that all controls are following company policies.

Ensure adequate controls on OPEX booking through managing the monthly closing for the financials of West Gulf Countries:

  • Overseeing accounting and finance processes (Ex. treasury, audit, tax, all other accounting matters for the organization) in coordination with the Takeda business solutions team to ensure their accuracy and completeness as well as complying with accounting principles and company policy.

  • Responsible for the Pre-Closing review of Opex ensuring all accounting entries have been posted properly and according to the monthly check list to afford adequate accounting controls and services.

  • Oversees the preparation and issuance of the statutory financial statements in collaboration with external audit.

  • Coordinate with external/internal auditors and government agencies to ensure compliance in all areas.

  • Analyzes accounting issues impacting functional groups and determines their proper process flow and control to have a lean efficient process.

  • Ensures that tax matters and concerns are considered and addressed in term of benefit and exposure.

  • Review Balance Sheet and analyze P&L ensuring correctness of record and proper reconciliations.

  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.

  • Co-ordinate with HR for Payroll matters or proper recording of employee’s benefits.

  • Establish and develop good relationship with business and Takeda business solution finding out the proper process flow & how to enhance and improve processes.

  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory guidelines & internal control procedures to satisfy SOX & Internal Audit requirements.

  • Support business leaders on financial initiatives and special projects from time-to-time.

  • Identify control issues and implement corrective actions working closely with the financial Controlling lead.

  • Work closely with financial controlling lead to harmonize/standardize the process across all the EAMEA Area were needed.

  • Responsible for in-scope finance processes for internal audits

What you bring to Takeda:

Required Education and Experience

  • University degree in Finance

  • Experience in accounting and financial reporting and solid tax and auditing background

  • Knowledge in IFRS and Sarbanes-Oxley.

  • Experience in using SAP & Hyperion System

Interaction

  • Direct report to EAMEA Area Financial Controlling lead.

  • Regular liaison within Cluster and BU stakeholders such as Controllership, FP&A, Country Finance Leads.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • University Degree in Finance or Accounting

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive Finance experience within a MNC finance organization

  • Previous experience in Middle East countries’ export market model & manage multiple legal entity bookkeeping (export and local) is a must to manage the complexity of the countries

  • Strong accounting, controllership, and decision support background

  • Audit experience is a strong preference

  • Cultural awareness

  • Effective communicator
