University of Rochester Admissions Senior Counselor in Rochester, New York

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management, the Assistant Director has primary responsibility for recruiting and enrolling new students in designated programs, and managing the outreach and recruitment activities for URSON. The Assistant Director regularly collaborates with relevant faculty and program coordinators/directors as well as departments of Student Affairs, Marketing communications, and ISO as needed, to increase enrollment and ensure that applicants have the resources they need throughout the enrollment process. Some Travel is required.

The Assistant Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management position reports to the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management, with no direct reports to this position. This position is directly responsible for enrollment of specific programs at URSON and has the authority to direct any support staff in relation to such activities.

Responsibilities:

Recruitment, Admissions, and Enrollment Management:

  • Actively seek out enrollment opportunities for URSON programs, including but not limited to: exhibiting at conferences, corporate/feeder school outreach, professional memberships, virtual information sessions and higher education fairs, and social media.

  • Maintain consistent contact with current applicants through individual meetings, school tours, phone calls, and email messaging.

  • Maintain up-to-date- knowledge on education and industry trends in Nursing.

  • Develop an ongoing recruitment plan and provide weekly, monthly and year-end reports on recruitment activity to the director and department faculty.

  • Develop annual competitor analysis protocol for programs of responsibility.

  • Actively manage, analyze, and report on data throughout the admissions funnel for all designated programs using tools available, including Workday, Slate, and any integrated data management system implemented at URSON.

  • Utilize database information according to policy, and recommend updates to policy as able to ensure efficient, and consistent, workflow processes, while preserving the integrity of student data.

  • In alignment with the communication flow plan, communicate with all new inquiries within 1 week of initial contact, and respond to questions and concerns related to the program, academics, or other support areas; continue contact via phone/email at strategic points throughout enrollment funnel, and as prospective student questions arise. Contribute to the building of program-specific communication flow plan to ensure prompt and thorough follow-up.

  • Monitor and review applications and other admissions documents for accuracy; collaborate with academic department to facilitate application review as programs require, and manage student data throughout the enrollment process in CRM.

  • Oversee the application review process related to specific program territory

  • Work with the ISO to ensure accurate and timely processing of international applicant requirements, as needed.

  • Understand and respond to commonly asked questions regarding financial aid.

  • Appropriately connect applicants with both on-campus and off-campus resources (e.g. Financial Aid, ISO, Academic Advisor, Veterans’ Counsel, etc.).

Marketing and Communications:

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications departments to formulate and implement strategic campaigns in support of new-student enrollment

  • Work with Marketing and Communications to support corporate outreach and feeder school communications, and other new-student initiatives relating to URSON.

  • Responsible for content of program-specific webpages, admissions webpages, and application, to ensure accuracy of information. Independently research and resolve issues.

Meetings and Committee Involvement/Other:

  • Cultivate relationships with Faculty and/or program directors to facilitate proper communication regarding academic program updates, nuances, changes, and initiatives that will directly impact the admissions and recruitment of new students.

  • Attend relevant meetings/committees in support of URSON enrollment to foster a positive presence within the School of Nursing, but also with other schools/departments/groups at the University that may present opportunities for immediate or future collaboration, such as: ISO, Slate Super User’s group (pending), Workday Taskforce, Tableau, Data Warehouse, Social Media, etc.

  • Special projects, event management, and other admissions work as needed. May include, but not limited to open houses, information sessions, receptions, database training, data management, mailings, off-site coffee and conversation events, etc. which are not directly outlined in the above efforts, yet are still strategic efforts associated with new student enrollment.

Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 2 year's experience in admissions

  • or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Advanced work in statistics, education, counseling and testing, and/or public relations desired.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $ 22.59 - $ 31.63 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
