Emerge Field Service Technician in Rochester, New York
OverviewWe are hiring Field Service Technicians (FST) to support the installation and service of our client’s camera and communication equipment on customer fleets. You will work with the Field Service team to meet installation and service schedules and maintain high quality standards. FST will perform installations and service according to defined operating procedures, additionally they will complete routine troubleshooting and propose solutions to service challenges. Our client is a technology company with a public safety mission. Candidates must reside in the Rochester area.Job Responsibilities•Works with schematics, install and service manuals, CAD drawings to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair units while in the field•Operates a variety of standard hand and power tools, analog/digital test equipment, and CCTV testing devices•Runs wires, manages cabling, connects components, mounts devices, and effectively solves problems while maintaining a high quality standard•Uses diagnostic equipment including multi meters & software to isolate wiring issues, network connectivity issues, equipment failures, and operational anomalies•Uses signal flow to trace and resolve network cable issues•Effectively terminates and tests basic connections such as butt splices, insulated connectors, terminal strips/blocks, others•Installs and terminates sub-devices (i.e., patch panels, junction boxes) and head-end equipment to include power and proper grounding•Generates, evaluates, and implements solutions to routine problems. Provides basic level of system diagnostics and troubleshooting such as electrical connections or equipment issues•Records and communicates daily deliverables to team leads in a timely manner•Works effectively with others from diverse backgrounds, resolving conflicts appropriately and building trust with colleagues•Identifies, moves, and stores construction and building materials for all types of installation and service activitiesQualificationsMinimum of 1 year technician service experience or schooling in an applicable field. Any experience listed below:•12-volt electronics installs and service•GPS or fleet telemetry installs and service•Fire alarm installs and service•Access control, CCTV, or intercom systems•School or other transit bus mechanic systems•Strong mechanical, mathematical and reasoning aptitude is required•Valid and current State issued Driver’s LicenseWork Environment•Ability to travel and work when school buses are not in operation; OT and occasional weekends may be required. •Field Services Technicians will work 2 weeks out and 1 week home. Travel by air or driving as required based on distance. Travel required 50-75% of the time•Must be willing to work flexible shifts including; overtime, nights and weekends when required•Must be able to stand/bend for up to 8 hours and lift up to 75 lbs to shoulder height•Position can include outdoor work, including hot or cold temperatures, confined spaces, extreme weather conditions, slippery and uneven walking surfaces, climbing ladders, bending, stooping, standing for long periods of time•Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis•This is a contract role for a minimum of 5 months with potential for extension to be longer term•Salary range is $21.15-$26.44/hour plus full benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, 401(k), and PTOEmerge seeks, in all its operations, to employ individuals for available positions based on their qualifications, working knowledge, and competency. Minimum Salary: 44,000 Maximum Salary: 55,000 Salary Unit: Hourly
