University of Rochester Pgm Trainee, Infection Prevention in Rochester, New York
POSITION SUMMARY:
As the hand hygiene specialist, this employee will represent the Infection Prevention Department and perform secret shopper observations of hand hygiene, personal protective equipment {PPE), and other compliance audits and data collection as needed. Significant training is provided prior to independent work shifts.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT: Assigned to inpatient units throughout Strong Memorial Hospital. Non-sterile work environment in hospital setting geared towards patient care.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES :
Additional duties may include:
Answering and referring phone calls
Organizing supplies and records; preparing
Delivering, picking-up, sorting or distributing mail
General knowledge of Microsoft Office
Triage any questions or concerns back to the identified Infection Preventionist for appropriate follow-up
Assist with data analysis and reporting to IPC and other committees
QUALIFICATIONS:
Enrolled in high school or graduate, at least 16 years of age
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Arrive on time as scheduled
Provide proper and timely notification to supervisor of scheduled and unscheduled absences; in accordance with department protocol
Maintain professional appearance according to department dress code
Take initiative to work independently with minimal direction
Effectively communicate questions, concerns and suggestions to supervisor
Work effectively with people of diverse cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Adhere to standard procedures
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIP AA standard
Understand and carryout oral and written instructions
Perform other duties as assigned

Pay Range
Pay Range: $ 15.00 - $ 20.25 Hourly
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
