We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Technician III to join our world-class manufacturing team at Fortive Corporation in Fairport, NY, USA. As an industry-leading provider of monitoring and protection devices for high-value electrical assets, we are at the forefront of redefining condition-based monitoring. In this role, your responsibilities will include performing and documenting initial inspections (FAI), communicating your findings to relevant parties, and meticulously maintaining inspection records. Your expertise in blueprint interpretation and utilization of measuring instruments will be instrumental in ensuring the exceptional quality of our products. Additionally, you will have a valuable role in the maintenance of calibrated equipment and offering support to the Material Review Board process. Responsibilities:

  • Perform and document First Article inspections (FAI) as required and serve as the primary owner of the FAI process

  • Present FAI findings to all relevant individuals involved

  • Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records

  • Inspect a variety of units using measuring/inspection instruments

  • Measure product dimensions, examine functionality, and compare to specifications

  • Address quality control concerns promptly and work towards their resolution.

  • Perform Receiving Inspection, as needed

  • Maintain inspection records and system transactions for MRB process

  • Support maintaining calibrated equipment and perform related tasks

  • Send daily Material Review Board (MRB) correspondence emails

Qualifications - External

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)

  • High school diploma or GED (equivalent experience will be considered)

  • Extensive knowledge of Methods of Measurement (Metrology)

  • Certified as Calibration Technician or Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (strongly preferred)

  • 2+ years of Oracle experience

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc)

  • Understanding of Industry and Quality concepts and standards such as ISO and NIST

  • Proficiency with office computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Organizational and time management skills

  • Knowledge of blueprint reading/Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T)

  • Proficient understanding of interpretation of calibration standards and effective methodologies

  • Compliance with Company and legal requirements, following safe work practices, and aiding to a positive health and safety culture

The salary range for this position (inclusive of sales incentives/commission) is $50,400.00 - $93,600.00. Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors, including, but not limited to: job-related knowledge; skills; experience; and other eligibility factors such as geographic location. The Total Rewards package includes competitive base pay and an opportunity to enroll in a variety of benefit programs, generally including health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and several programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work.
