JOB SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Automation Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager, Automation and is responsible for providing production and project support to help achieve Cirtec Medical-s business and performance objectives. Success in this role is characterized by strong troubleshooting abilities of electro-mechanical equipment, consistent ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities, ability to manage and implement projects, clear operational thinking, and an ability to build relationships across broad stakeholders- groups and engineering delivery excellence.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical support for automated manufacturing equipment. (electrical, mechanical, programming, etc.)

  • Identify opportunities to improve quality and efficiency of the manufacturing process (continuous improvement) and implement improvement projects.

  • Lead root-cause investigation and corrective action formulation as it relates to manufacturing equipment and systems.

  • Coordinate support and project efforts with other engineers, technicians, and managers.

  • Develop work instructions and procedures for operating equipment.

  • Train operators, technicians, and other employees as necessary.

  • Utilize Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to review components and implement improvements.

  • Assist in designing, delivering, and validating new equipment and upgrades.

  • Develop and execute validation protocols for equipment.

  • Prepare interim and final status reports of engineering activities and projects to management and customers.

  • Develop and prepare quotations for automation equipment and upgrades to existing equipment. To include cost evaluation and return on investment (ROI) estimates.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with outside suppliers and customers.

  • Travel when necessary. Typically, less than 10% travel.

  • Complies with company, quality and safety standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or similar field

  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience.

  • Working knowledge and experience work with and troubleshooting PLCs, sensors, drives, motors, pneumatics, relays, and other electro-mechanical systems.

  • Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.

  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues using a multi-meter.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years of experience in a high volume component manufacturing.

  • Machine vision, Human Machine Interface (HMI), and robotics experience

  • Experience designing mechanical components using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. Preferably SolidWorks.
