Our client is seeking a FinOps/Cloud Cost Analyst, who will be the cost optimization expert for our customer. They will work with our customer on optimizing their Cloud spend including but not limited to purchasing Reserved Instances and Savings Plans. The FinOps/Cloud Program Cost Analyst will be the billing expert available for training customers on understanding Cloud usage and patterns and champion and advocate for the use of our automated tools. This individual will also provide financial operations training, drive user experience improvements, adoption of processes and FinOps education

In this role you will also support the client's Cloud Hosting team in delivering highly communicative and financial reports that provide customers with their usage, monthly billing, and funding utilization. Candidates must be able to communicate well with their customers throughout their Cloud journey.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

• Collaborate with architects and clients to establish cloud economics tools and platforms based on Federal and Industry Cloud FinOps best practices.

• Develop agency and program specific framework for FinOps principals, personas (roles), domains (areas of focus) and roadmap for Cloud FinOps to provide financial recommendations for cloud usage.

-Collaborate with staff on cloud improvements. Create and present financial models and reports. Continuously monitor cost of services and perform Total Cost of Ownership studies.

-Leading technical and financial analysis to help Business and Product Owners determine the impact of cloud hosting by identifying cost savings design options and usage trends that impact projected spending.

-Maintaining current knowledge of relevant AWS optimization techniques, best practices, policies, and procedures to share via documented artifacts or verbally in meetings with the client's leadership, product teams, and infrastructure engineers.

-Help develop the billing and analytics engines of the centralized decision-making portal.

-Create and present financial models and reports.

-Based on experience and relevant qualifications, the pay range for this role is 48-58.50 per hour

Skills and Requirements

Education: BA/BS or equivalent and five years of experience.

Required Experience: 5+ years of experience with cloud systems (AWS). 3+ years of cloud financial/economics experience.

Required Skills:

-Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience working with stakeholders and development teams. Strong communication skills, oral and written, to convey cloud technologies and solutions to customer personnel.

-Experience working with senior business and product owners to develop business cases, perform value and TCO analysis, and identify and implement cost optimization techniques for cloud infrastructure and applications.

-Ability to develop and present reports that quantify the cost benefits of different design options for running applications in cloud. -Knowledge of FinOps tools such as, but not limited to, Apptio, CloudZero, CloudCheckr, and cloud native cost optimization tools such as AWS Cost Explorer.

-Experience in building and operating financial control and analysis systems such as cloud cost analysis and chargeback models. null
