The Katherine Thomas School is a private school that services students with language, learning, and sensory motor disabilities and moderate to high functioning autism. KTS has an opening for a Music Teacher (20 hours/week) for the 2024/2025 school year. EOE

Responsibilities of the music teacher include:
Develop music instruction following the Maryland State Curriculum, provide necessary modifications to meet individual, group, and program needs
Implement IEP accommodations
Create a supportive learning environment
Create partnerships with parents and the KTS community
KTS has many resources available on site. These many resources include the class set of ukuleles and xylophones, world music drums, and the Game Plan music curriculum books and learning packs.
Required Experience for the Music Teacher:
Bachelors in Music Education or similar degree (minimum)
Special Education and experience with teaching Music (highly preferred)
Experience working with children on the spectrum in a school environment is preferred

As a condition of employment, all employees are required to have received at least the first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or the single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
