We are in search of a meticulous Cost Accountant to join our team based in Mankato, Minnesota. You will play a crucial role in compiling and analyzing financial information, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting policies, and assisting with various accounting procedures. This role is also involved in assisting Project Managers with bidding processes, setting up construction projects in the accounting and job cost systems, and maintaining internal sales orders. Responsibilities:

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts such as general ledger accounts.

• Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and corporate accounting policies, including GAAP and IFRS.

• Assist employees, vendors, clients, or customers by providing answers related to accounts, procedures, and services.

• Identify and resolve problems and inconsistencies, determining appropriate corrective procedures.

• Assist Project Managers during the bidding process, including creating estimating files, monitoring addendums, and submitting final bids.

• Set up and maintain construction projects in the accounting and job cost systems.

• Set up and maintain internal sales orders for construction projects.

• Verify and post details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and total accounts to ledgers or computer spreadsheets and databases.

• Evaluate construction contract requirements to ensure compliance, monitor last day worked for lien or bond rights, and complete final close-out documentation in coordination with Project Managers.

Requirements • Applicant must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cost Accounting role.

• Proficiency in Cost Accounting is essential for this role.

• The candidate must have strong skills in Cost Analysis.

• Expertise in Microsoft Excel is required.

• The applicant must have a thorough understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.

• Excellent data analysis skills are required, including the ability to interpret complex financial data.

• Strong communication and presentation skills are necessary for this role.

• The candidate must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• The applicant must have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.

• The candidate should have the ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage time effectively.

• The applicant must have a professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
