Summary This position is located in the Education Department of the Nurse Executive Office, which includes staff education, patient and family education, and academic affiliations. The Education Department is responsible for policy development; assessment of staff, patient, volunteer, students and contractors (herein called "users") education needs; management of staff learning records; and planning, implementing, and evaluating the VA Roseburg Healthcare System's (VARHS) education activities. Responsibilities The primary responsibility of this position is to function as the Learning Management System (LMS) Manager, which includes the specific roles of the Profile Maintenance Manager, Administrator, Domain Manager, Item Manager, Registration Manager, and Scheduling Manager for the VARHS. This nationwide employee education system tracks user's education and training and is the database source for reports required by VA (Central Office, VISN 20, and SOARS) and non-VA (Joint Commission, Office of Inspector General) entities. Incumbent assists with the Education Coordinator and the Director of Education to ensure that all education offerings are consistent with VA policy, meet education standards and mandates, are current, and can be tracked within the database. Incumbent assists the Education Coordinator with coordination of New Employee Orientation, including delivery of face-to-face training, as well as web-based training. He/she assists with education needs assessment and development, set up, and coordination of web-based and face-to-face training for user education. Edits, produces and formats education program materials. Employee manages training room scheduling and pre-registration and registration for facility-wide training. Major duties include but is not limited to: Responsible for set up and initiation of LMS system POC/Administrator for LMS. Participates in weekly national LMS conference calls and training for the VARHS LMS Administrators and LMS Help Desk Roles. Responsible for briefing Education Coordinator (aka: Designated Learning Officer (DLO)) and Education Director regarding all aspects of LMS program. Brief key local individuals. Serve as an advocate for LMS. Train users and supervisors on LMS user interface, which includes training items and reports. Troubleshoot user issues with passwords, logon and training items. Record national training in LMS for national training taken on non-LMS site. Make assignments of national training to local users. Run reports as requested. Coordinate with Local Unit Coordinators and IT to assure that training and troubleshooting is done for all VA and non-VA users. Ensure education requirements at facility are included in LMS system set up and management. Profile Maintenance Manager manages user accounts LMS Administrator manages the user accounts. Provide technical support. Provide training and support for all LMS users. Manage administrators within their own Domain and add reference values that affect local use of the VA LMS, as well as performing all the tasks of the of all other roles in the VA LMS. Responsible for both face-to-face and web-based instruction during New Employee Orientation. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
